Sharpen your skills, improve your score and build friendships on the greens of a premier Maryland golf course.

Golf members enjoy unlimited complimentary reciprocity with our sister courses at Queenstown Harbor as well as an option to stay at the newly constructed Cottages on the water. Queenstown features two 18-hole championship courses with scenic water views and natural beauty that is second to none. The River Course is consistently rated as having some of the best golf in Maryland and the Washington, D.C. area. Reopened at the beginning of 2011 after a thoughtful and extensive renovation, several holes were moved closer to the Chester River, and all bunkering was updated to create a windswept design that mimics the natural landscape of the site, optimizes shot values, and ensures superior conditioning. The Lakes Course will challenge every aspect of your game. From the accuracy needed to tame the peninsular green on number 6 to the spectacular finishing hole, the course will test the mettle of anyone who thinks they can carry the sand. Ranked several times as one of the best courses in the country for women, The Lakes course offers a great time for all golfers.

progressive Practice Facility

Members enjoy course like conditions on our driving range and practice green, with monies continuing to be pushed to better your golf experience!  Be sure to visit our practice facility here at The Golf Club at South River before you play or just to work on your game.  First, take your golf bag to our full driving range, with both grass tees and newly laid artificial turf mat.  Start with some wedge shots and work your way up through the clubs in your bag.  If you are playing a round after your practice, try "playing" the first few holes by imagining the first fairway and hitting a drive; then pretend you are hitting your approach shot to the first green, and so forth.  On the putting surface try to get the feel of our greens.  Be sure to putt from different lengths and remember to hole out each putt, so you are mentally ready for your round.  Do not forget if mother nature rains on your parade, you can still access our indoor HD Golf Simulator every day of the week!

Delivering a better golf experience

South River takes pride in the advancements made in providing members with the latest technology in golf to enhance all aspects of the golf experience.  Players can view 3D flyovers of each hole and are provided daily pin accuracy to ensure you hit it the right distance every time!  The interactive touchscreen also allows golfers to keep score electronically and be able to send it via email to themselves or the golf shop for posting to the MSGA Handicap System.  What round is complete without some great food and beverage available when you need it, now easily accessible through our carts.  Our upgraded fleet of carts will provide you and your guests with a more enjoyable golf experience.
