A BIG thank you to all who contributed to our holiday collection for the troops

The Ladies Member-Guest team, assisted by Katie and Sarah Mather, packed up and mailed 11 boxes to our two troop units. Included in the shipment were plenty of socks, snacks, hygiene products, office supplies and magazines. Thanks to all who gave 'gifts' and to those who participated in our 50/50 raffle to cover shipping costs.

Congratulations to the South River ladies for finishing SECOND, only three points behind the first place team, in the Suburban Washington Golf Association (SWGA). This is an accomplishment being it’s our first year participating in the competition and South River did not have a match on our home course due to torrential rain.

The league consisted of 8 person teams from ten local golf clubs – Bowie, Crofton, Eisenhower, Ft. Meade, Navy, Old South, South River, Univ. of Maryland, Walden and Woodmore. The format was 2 person match play. Matches were played at each club beginning April 29 and ending September 13.

Representing The Golf Club at South River were Linda Hoffman, Rep., MJ Mather, Asst. Rep., Deb Barghorn, Vandy Comer, Dorothy Everstine, Shelly Ford, Julie Jackson, Sheri Long, Carol Mattingly, Phyllis Nicholson, Tracy Parkerson, and Amy Pierce. Great work! Everyone is looking forward to next year.

The Annual Ladies Member Guest was very successful this past June under the guidance of chair leader, Dorothy Everstine and committee of Amy Pierce, Barbara Veres and Vandy Comer. The Event raised over $4000 to support the local Juvenile Diabetes Association.
